Alfred Henry Woiwod, 62, passed away suddenly a this home early Saturday morning, March 13. Funeral services were held at 1:30 pm Tuesday, March 16 at St. John’s Lutheran church, Pastor M. A. Marquardt officiating. Mr. Woiwod’s confirmation text St. John 5:24 served as the text.

The church choir sang “Jesus Lover of My Soul” and the congregation sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”. Mrs. Ronald Boehnke was the organist.

Internment was made in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Honorary pallbearers were Theodore Saucke, Fred Weiss, Warren Thada, Richard Dougan, Arthur Hanselman and Lawrence Boehnke. Active Pallbearers were Donald Woiwood, Vincent Woiwood, Ernest Woiwod, Orville Woiwod, Milton Bohn, and Reuben Grell. Ushers were Raymond Grell and Philip Boehnke.

Alfred Henry Woiwod, son of Carl and Anna (Schichka) Woiwod, was born on a farm in Concord Township on October 23, 1902, and confirmed in the Lutheran Church on April 16, 1916. On July 21, 1931, he was united in holy wedlock with Elfrieda nee Zeitz. Since his marriage he has lived on the farm on which he was born and raised.

Mr. Woiwod was an active member of the Concord Progressive Community Club and held the office of Deacon (Elder) at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Elfrieda; a son Arlo, at home; two daughters Ina Mae Woiwod, at home and Mrs. Herbert (Elda Ann) Fuller Jr., Clear Lake, and two grand children Rodney and Nancy Fuller; two brothers Carl, Garner and W.A. Woiwod of Sun City California, and two sisters, Mrs. L.A. (Lena) Grell of Ventura and Anna Bohn of Garner.

Her was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Frank, Walter, Edward, and Otto, and one sister, who died at the age of four.
